Missions and Outreach Jesus said in Matthew 28:16-20: Jesus has called all Christians to take part in this greatest mission on Earth. One of the ways we do that is to send evangelists all over the world preaching the Good News of the Gospel. We support them by prayer, fellowship, and financially. These are the missionaries to whom we give monthly support. We encourage you to go to their websites, check them out, and then join us in supporting them. Christian City (www.christiancity.org) The Christian City campus is a vibrant and active retirement community as well as refuge for children without families of their own. Every effort is made to see that both children and the aged have enriched and rewarding lives. While expressly Christian in orientation, Christian City does not discriminate in any way with regard to who can benefit from services and ministries provided. We minister to the physical as well as the spiritual needs of people as an expression of the Love of God to them. Our motto is “Loving People…Loving People.” It is our hope that hurting people will experience the love of God through us and be drawn closer to Him. It is also our hope that everyone served by Christian City enjoys an enriched and fulfilling life. International Disaster Emergency Service (www.ides.org) Jesus Place (www.jesusplace.com) Mid India Christian Mission (www.midindia.com) Roanoke Bible College (www.roanokebible.edu) Located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, RBC is just an hour's drive from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and the outer banks. Roanoke's mission is to educate men and women for career and volunteer Christian Service. Southwest Christian Care (www.swchristiancare.org) In 1983, the dream of building a caring hospice ministry began to unfold as a small staff and loving volunteers began providing hospice homecare from a Sunday School classroom at Southwest Christian Church in East Point, Georgia. The current hospice facility was built in 1987 and is located on seven beautifully-landscaped acres in Union City. Southwest Christian Hospice became the first full-service hospice in the state of Georgia, providing homecare and center-based care. Sunbelt Christian Youth Ranch (www.sunbeltranch.org) The ranch provides children with lots of fresh air to breathe and room to romp, play and laugh in an atmosphere of freedom they have never known before. It is ranch life in its purest; a wholesome form where picking peas, milking a cow and riding a horse evaporates frustrations and instills a peace within. The Sunbelt climate is favorable for year-round gardening and activities. Its four seasons provide the variety and beauty to interest staff and children. It is also favored with the traditional “Southern Hospitality” and unique culture and vernacular that bond residents and attract visitors. Woodland Christian Camp (www.woodlandcamp.org) Woodland Christian Camp opened in 1969. The original property,
located on 44 acres in Temple, Georgia, was purchased in order to provide a
place for Christian youth of the Atlanta metropolitan area to camp, retreat, and
fellowship. That first summer of camp hosted 487 campers. In 1982, 56 acres were purchased for the construction of a second camp. An eight-acre lake was the first item completed. In addition, land was cleared for the Woodland Junction camp. The development of this railroad theme camp was aided by the donation of twelve box cars by Southern Railway, Inc. The camp came on-line in 1988. In 2000, the camp purchased an additional eighteen acres of land, bringing Woodland's total acreage up to 120. Construction for Woodland's Heritage Camp began in November of 2004. The 1st Heritage Camp use was May of 2005. This camp increased Woodland's capacity to over 350 beds. |
